Job Summary:
Bethesda Systems is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician Journeyman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in high-end residential settings. This role requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to lead a team of 2-3 junior electricians on new and existing electrical projects, and the capability to work independently when needed. A commitment to safety and quality workmanship is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair both new and retro-fit electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, outlets, and fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Test electrical systems and components for continuity, voltage, and resistance.
- Mentor and guide apprentice electricians as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures and protocols.
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician License in Maryland.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed Journeyperson electrician.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in using electrical tools, meters, and testing equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
- Experience in residential and commerciahigh-end residential electrical work.
- Experience in commercial electrical work is acceptable, but not essential.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Knowledge of smart home and automation systems.
- Experience with service panel upgrades and generator installations.
